That Chandler windmill is interesting, I have one also, it was the only one I ever heard of. Mine came from the extreme SW Corner of Kansas, I am pretty sure its a Butler but it would also be the only Butler I ever saw in Kansas as well. Here are some pics, the vane says "The Chandler".

KRB : The mill you posted the picture of appears to be a Butler Single gear. The mill pictured on the previous page by windmillerman has a vane shape that is Butler, but the wheel has it's bands going thru the sails, where the Butler's sails sat in front of the wheel bands. It's possible someone put a different wheel on the one pictured, but it's still interesting that Chandler possibly private labeled and sold Butler mills. The Defiance Pump Co. did for sure as I have a couple catalogs from them. I will check the catalog, I think they were located in Iowa if I remember correctly..
